Nicola is part of the Wednesday walking group.  She really looks forward to the group every week, to be out and about walking with her friends.   She knows so many places around Nottingham now and loves to tell us when she's out with family that 'this is where I come with walking group'.

Social Souls is like family to my brother. The staff always look out for him and contact the family if there is anything we need to know. They have supported my brother through many life events including the loss of our dad. I know my brother feels safe and accepted being a part of social souls. Groups like this are an absolute life line to service users.

It’s fun! I enjoy seeing my friends and I do one of the walking groups each week. We go to lots of different places around Derby and Nottingham and sometimes get a bus or tram. I sometimes do other days and we do shopping, museums or cinema trips. We also have social evenings when we have pizza and watch a film or have a disco.

Lucy loves her days with Social Souls- from the variety of activities on offer to meeting with her friends! The staff are all lovely, caring and supportive. It was certainly noticed by carers whilst we were away ‘that Lucy had an ‘extra spring in her step’ on the days she attends Social Souls activities!

“As a multiply tutor of Inspire to the Social Souls learners, I was happy to see them being proactive and positive in the courses. With a remark on their achievement, they were becoming more independent and confident from time to time. Really appreciated. Let’s go forward and hope all enjoy learning new things in their future.”

“Our daughter attends Social Souls three days a week and really enjoys the social interactions & activities they provide. These include: Walking group, volunteer group, going-out group and sports & social activities. They also organise a monthly cafe session where the members serve drinks, cakes and organise their own quizzes. We would highly recommend this service provider. “

‘Social Souls embeds walking and physical activity into their weekly schedule in an inspiring, empowering way, ensuring people are getting out and about in nature, in their communities and surroundings and challenging themselves physically whilst connecting with each other mentally. Walking (and wheeling) is one of the most accessible ways of being active, breaking sedentary behaviour and connecting to nature. Such a unique way of delivering a community service of the community and for the community.’

My Son attends Social Souls for 3 days per week. He loves going there and I know that he is well looked after by the amazing, friendly staff. Beth and her team go above and beyond to organise fun, inclusive activities for everyone to enjoy. As a parent, I am so happy that I can drop my Son off and have no concerns about him. It's always a joy to see the service-users interacting with the staff and their friends and clearly happy to be at Social Souls!!

We would highly recommend Social Souls as a provider for adults with learning difficulties. The following reasons are why our daughter, Sarah, attends Social Souls. Sarah enjoys the socialising she experiences with others within the group. There are varied activities, both indoor and outdoor, these help to improve her life skills and confidence. Sarah has met new friends whilst attending the group sessions. As parents, we believe Social Souls is providing a very valuable service. The staff at Social Souls are very capable and caring, these values help give us parents the security knowing that our children are in safe hands. Thanks.

Social Souls are more than specialist provision. We have experienced many "inclusive" providers who think it's enough that people with additional needs are simply not excluded. Social Souls are seen as family by my oldest child (aged 22 years, they have autism and learning difficulties) The staff is professional but caring, welcoming and accepting of all. Every effort is made to meet different needs. The activities and opportunities offered are varied and help to promote self-confidence, personal and social development and independent living skills.

I visited Social Souls to deliver crafts sessions with a little maths embedded in them. Members received me with kindness, acceptance and good-natured humour, qualities they also displayed towards each other. Social Souls have fostered a culture where members feel confident to have a go and express their creativity. It is a pleasure and a privilege to be welcomed into their space.

An excellent, very person-centred service which our daughter attends 3 times a week. She really benefits from all the out and about active provision. We love the way the clients are consulted about how the timetable will look and are always considered in the planning. The staff are always kind, approachable and supportive. It's such a positive way of providing a day service, and also we love that it is from different centres, thereby building great relationships in different local communities, which is always a benefit. So so thankful for this service and all that it offers. Eleanor hardly ever uses her wheelchair now - all because of the amble group building of her strength and resilience.
